Our names are Gregg and Mary Vanderwegen and we started vom Stoltz German Shepherds in 2002. Prior to this we had raised Labs. Our first German Shepherd dog (GSD) was "Bo" who was with us for over 13 years. Bo was the first and only German Shepherd we trained AKC style. Bo received his Canine Good Citizenship and finished third overall in his class competition. After losing one of our Labs, we decided to purchase another German Shepherd female, "Hallie". Mary worked for a local kennel who bred German Shepherds with excellent bloodlines. These dogs are 100% German Bloodlines and are bred for show and/or work. . We purchased two female puppies and continued our learning experience with these beautiful and intelligent dogs.
Mary
takes care of the day to day operation of our dogs. She logs all
pertinent information on each dog and schedules all vet
appointments. She records the daily activity of every puppy in
each litter so we know which pup(s) seem more advanced than the
others. We are both involved in showing in conformation shows
with our boys, E-Frank von Bren Haus and Joey vom Stoltz.
"Frank" received SG-4 at the USA Sieger Show in Dallas,
TX, SG-4 at Topline's show,SG-1 at Hauptstadt's show and SG-2 at
Prairie State. Joey received VP-2 at Hauptstadt's show and
VP-3 at Prairie State. Mary served as the President
of the Hauptstadt Schutzhund Club which is located in Spring Green,
Wisconsin for four years, from 2004-2008.
Gregg does the training of our dogs with the assistance of the excellent helpers they have at the Hauptstadt Schutzhund Club which consists of obedience, tracking and protection. It is a lot of work, but also very rewarding.
We are both members of the GSDCA-WDA and Schutzhund USA. These are both organizations which follow German standards in both conformation shows and schutzhund trials. We will continue the lineage of our dogs by matching their pedigrees with other German Shepherds that compliment theirs. We use local kennels for stud service so anyone that has questions can easily get any information they need. We welcome you to our home to see our dogs or available litters at any time.
